Counselor

I am very excited to be posting this blog entry today!

If you remember the first email I sent out to you introducing our group, you will remember me mentioning that we will have a counselor.  Well I am very happy to introduce her to you now.

Her name is Idalida Luna.  Mrs Luna is a physiologist and has been living abroad for many years herself, so she will be able to relate to many of your questions and situations.  Please feel free to contact her at any time.  Many times we think we are admitting defeat when we reach out for help.  But why wait until it is almost to late, or feel bad about asking for help.  We are all just human, and we need help from time to time.  So I urge you, don't feel shy about asking for help.

Below is a letter from Mrs Luna.

Dear ADRA Asia Friends,
Life is never easy. It is not easy when we live in our own country, speaking our own language, eating food that is familiar to us and in close contact with our extended family. When we live, work and live our daily life in a foreign country and culture or just a new place, life can become a real challenge for many of us.
Many questions and complex feelings arise in each one of us and we may feel overwhelmed.
For that reason I am grateful that the administration of ADRA Asia is thinking of each one of you and has decided to provide a service which you can reach from the comfort of your home or office.
This service will consist mainly of online counseling where you can get some help in:
Dealing with relationships
Struggling with life’s challenges
Reflect on past painful memories in order to deal with them in a healing way
Improve your interpersonal skills and overcome some negative feeling or
Just having someone to lend you an ear when you feel you need to talk about some issues
Any correspondence or communication is strictly confidential and the ADRA Asia office will not be informed. Client  confidentiality is the most important aspect of counseling, unless I learn  that you are planning to harm yourself or others in which case I am obliged to inform a third party.
The system will be very simple:  you write to me in any moment using aassgcounselor@gmail.com and I will write back to you as soon as I can.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you. This privilege to have access to private counseling is seldom offered to employees. So once again I would like to commend ADRA for their desire to support their employees in all aspects of life and at the same time to encourage you write to me.
As I end this letter I would like to remind you that life is beautiful and each of you deserves happiness. I am looking forward to be the instrument God may use to make your life more fulfilling and happy as you serve ADRA in Asia.
Sincerely
Idalida Luna
Counselor
